Inria's strategic ambition, clearly announced in its Contract of Objectives and Performance for the period 2019-2023, is to be a national research organisation at the service of the development of major world-class research campuses in digital sciences and technologies. It is in this context that the Inria centre at the University of Lille has signed a strategic agreement with its territorial partner: the University of Lille.
The University of Lille and Inria have had a long-standing working relationship. The framework agreement signed at the end of November 2021 aims to accelerate this relationship by setting out a series of joint actions to create a leading site for digital science and technology, for the benefit of research, higher education and innovation in the Lille area.

The strategic agreement was signed on 30 November 2021 by Bruno Sprotisse, Chairman and CEO of Inria, and Jean-Christophe Camart, President of the University of Lille.

Strengthening joint synergies
The Inria centre and the University of Lille have been collaborating for many years through common actions. This strategic agreement will accelerate the digital dynamics of the Lille area.
This ambitious joint site policy allows for better consultation on bilateral actions, but also on actions that lead Inria and its partner to work with third parties, whether with public partners in education, research and innovation, or with private partners, whether French, European or foreign.
It also aims to improve the international attractiveness of the campuses for the benefit of teaching, research in areas of common interest, and job creation. Particular attention is paid to the coordination of HR policies (recruitment, delegation, mobility, reception, etc.), in particular to support the joint project teams created or to be created.
