Inria's strategic ambition, as clearly announced in its Contract of Objectives and Performance for the period 2019-2023, is to be a national research organization serving the development of major world-class research campuses in digital sciences and technologies. It is in this context that the Inria Saclay center has signed strategic agreements with its two territorial partners: the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and the Université Paris-Saclay.
Strengthening joint synergies
The Inria Saclay center and its strategic partners have been collaborating for many years through joint actions. These strategic agreements accelerate the digital dynamics of the Paris-Saclay region.
These joint site policies allow for better consultation on bilateral actions, but also on actions that lead Inria and its two partners to work together with third parties, whether with public partners in education, research, and innovation, or with private partners, whether French, European, or foreign.
It also aims to improve the international attractiveness of the campuses for the benefit of teaching, research in areas of common interest, and job creation. Particular attention is paid to the coordination of HR policies (recruitment, delegation, mobility, reception, etc.), in particular to support the joint project teams created or to be created.
The symbolic, strategic and operational embodiment of these partnerships is the creation of the Inria Center at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and the Inria Center at the Université Paris-Saclay.

The strategic agreement was signed on July 23, 2021 by Bruno Sportisse, Chairman and CEO of Inria, and Eric Labaye, President of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

The strategic agreement was signed on October 25, 2021 by, from left to right, Pierre-Paul Zalio, President of the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, Bruno Sportisse, President and CEO of Inria, Sylvie Retailleau, President of the Université Paris-Saclay, Romain Soubeyran, Director General of CentraleSupélec.
