L’Expo Inria retraces the history of computing and presents the digital revolution in which Inria is a major player: the first computers, networks, the emergence of the Internet, the Web, AI, etc. Through this exhibition, discover the history of the Voluceau site as well as the evolution of Inria's office automation equipment, a privileged witness to the work of scientists who, in some cases, have left their mark on the digital history.
Visitors will be welcomed by scientists from the institute, who will present the history of the site and the advent of the digital revolution, from the adventure of the "Computing plan" to the emergence of artificial intelligence, via the development of applied mathematics, computing, the Internet and smartphones.
A number of demonstrations, workshops and events will be presented to illustrate the rich history of the Inria Rocquencourt site, from the installation of Allied troops in 1952 to the research work of two generations of scientists.
