MISTI’s award-winning international internship program provides a one-of-a-kind, world-class experience for MIT students: the opportunity to gain real-life work experience in leading companies and labs around the world. Each year through the MIT-France program, over 80 MIT students intern and conduct research in French companies and labs. The MIT-France Seed Fund facilitates dozens of research collaborations between MIT faculty and their French counterparts. MISTI makes it possible for MIT students to experience the world while advancing knowledge, tackling tough challenges, and preparing for lives of impact, service, and leadership in an interconnected global society.

Within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Office for Science and Technology (OST) at the Embassy of France in the United States is a network of 22 team members working in liaison with all the actors of research in France (universities, engineering school, innovation and technology transfer centers, organizations) and American scientific partners. Their mission is to promote French science and innovation to American actors, to promote exchanges of students and researchers through various specific funding programs such as the MIT-France bilateral seed fund program (MISTI-France) and to initiate or strengthen scientific and technological French American partnerships by organizing expert visits and scientific meetings.
