The Viva Technology meeting will take place from June 14 to 17, 2023 in Paris at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Presentations, pitches, debates and conferences bringing together the world of project teams and startups are to be discovered during these four days. Several Inria project teams and startups will be meeting professionals and the general public on the Inria stand and the Franco-German stand.
Enjoy an immersive experience on our stand dedicated to sports and digital technology: put your body and mind to the test in virtual or real reality, and follow your performance live with our researchers.
Future entrepreneurs will also be able to meet the project leaders supported by Inria Startup Studio, our digital entrepreneurship support program. Inria Startup Studio supports the project's development and helps it to become self-sufficient.

With 500 days to go until the opening of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, Inria's teams are taking you into the world of games in both real and virtual environments. Today, nearly twenty of our project-teams are working on sports-related topics, from data collection and modelling to virtual reality. Get in touch with our research teams, measure your performance and feel the sensations of a sportsman or woman in full effort!

Try your hand at a Virtual Reality (VR) training system that lets you face an attacker as if you were actually in a boxing ring! The system multiplies different types of attack, so that VR users can practise anticipating attacks without getting hurt. The MimeTIC team is taking part in this project with the M2S laboratory at Rennes 2 University.
To train a goalkeeper to make the right choices, the MimeTIC team, with the M2S laboratory at Rennes 2 University, is developing a Virtual Reality training system. In this demonstration, you will rehearse several shooting situations with precision! You will be equipped with sensors that allow you to reconstruct the movement of your avatar and thus quantify its performance in stopping the ball.
The ancestor of Basque pelota, this sport was originally played with the palm of the hand, then with a bevelled racket to help catch the ball on the bounce. Virtual reality controllers play the role of a racket, and a simulator is used to recreate the behaviour of the ball when it bounces off the walls or the racket. This project was made possible thanks to the work of the Hybrid team in collaboration with archaeologists and specialists from the 'Jeu de Paume'.
